Shredder Machine in Recycling Field

In plastic washing and recycling field, the new comers sometime are confused which machine to choose between shredder machine and crusher machine for different materials.

First, when the processed material thickness over 10mm, it is better to use shredder machine. Shredder is good at processing thick material, hard, rigid material: lumps, rigid blocks, pallet. Which crusher machine is good at thin material like film, bottle, pipe etc.

Second shredder machine have a higher output capacity ability than crusher machine. The capacity can reach over 5tons per hour. Therefore, shredder machine is suitable for massive production area.

And last, some special material, the crusher machine cannot, while shredder machine can, like fabric material, fishing net material, rope material, wood pallet, tyre, rubber, wood etc

Hence, it is much clear view that shredder is more wide application than crusher

On the technical level, when build the shredder machine, it must be durable. The rigid materials will test the machine stability. The concentricity of rotating shaft is made from 45# forged steel, it also goes annealing treatment. Thus, the rotating shaft is wearing resistance and lasts for a long working time. During the shredding processing the material will be jammed, then the rotating knife working, during working processing, there is shock absorb device to protect the gearbox. The gearbox is a key component in shredder machine, it shall have big gear teeth surface, high gear ratio and good lubrication and cooling system.

The shredding machine is an industrial automation machine. All the operation is PLC controlled. The cutting time, stopping time, reverse time and emergency stop are more monitored by plc sensor. It is labor saving for industrial production. When pushing troller push the material towards the rotating shaft, the knife cut off the material. In the mean while, current indicator give feedback to the PLC. When reach the setting limitation, the pushing troller stops, backwards; this is the normal working process. If material is jammed at rotating shaft, the troller stops, the shaft auto reverse running. The material is out. Then the current drop, the machine starts again a new working cycle. All theses steps are managed automatically by PLC.

The shredder machine is a device to cut waste into fine particles. For single shaft shredder, the screen net is fixed on the machine to control output particles sizes. For double shaft shredder, four shaft shredders, the gap of rotating knife and fixed knife will decide output particle sizes, therefore no need screen net.

For shredding machine, its cutting knife is consumable items. Each cutting knife is a square shape; normally it is used one edge for cutting material; when the working efficiency is dropping, take of the knife and mount the knife with another cutting edge. So each knife can be used four times. Due to its small size, when four cutting edges get blunt, take off and install a new one. The knife is assembly type. It is labour saving for knife replacement.

Therefore shredding machine is an ideal machine used in plastic recycling field.
